Thrifty Thursday: eMeals

*I received a membership for review purposes. Any opinions expressed are my own.

I just got accepted into the eMeals blogging program. You may have heard of eMeals before. If you listen to Dave Ramsey at all, I can almost guarantee you have heard him mention this program! But just in case you haven't heard of it, let me briefly explain.
eMeals is a program that basically plans your dinners for you and gives you the grocery list you need. This helps you keep your grocery spending in check because you only buy what is on the list. You can choose from a variety of meal plans, including gluten-free, vegetarian, clean-eating and more! They also have a new slow-cooker plan.
The slow-cooker plan is perfect for busy families who are out (at work, school, etc) all day but still want a home-cooked meal. There is even a clean eating slow cooker option. If you want a sample of what kind of recipes you will find, check out this slow cooker clean eating chicken broccoli pasta.
If this is something you'd be interested in, you can use the code SLOW to get 15% off. Check out eMeals today!

Bloggers, if you're interested in taking part in the eMeals blogger program, sign up here. Be sure to let them know I sent you!

Fantasy Book: Chapter 2

This is chapter 2 of my fantasy (as in castles in a land far away) book. If you haven't read chapter one, I recommend doing so before proceeding. :-) This is a chapter to a book I'm working on. This is a fantasy story that I am actually hoping to make into a trilogy. You are not obligated to read, and if this isn't your kind of thing, I understand.
I just thought I would put it out there in case anyone was interested. If you do continue reading, I would love to know if, after reading chapter what I have so far, you would like to continue reading.
I may publish the story one day, but until then, I thought I would share it with anyone who might be interested, :-)

Roving Cove Corner Guards by Mayapple Baby

*I received a set of corner cushions for review purposes. Any opinions expressed are my own.*

Yesterday I posted about the very cute Suri teethers from Mayapple Baby, and now I want to tell you about a child safety product from the same company. This is the safe corner cushion set from Roving Cove (by Mayapple Baby).
As babies grow and begin to walk, their chances of bumping into objects increases. Bumping into table corners can be exceptionally painful. Which is why table corner guards are a good idea.
The Roving Cove childproof corner guards are soft and rubbery and packaged with recycled paper and recyclable plastic bag and printed with soy ink. Each corner piece is secured with 4 pieces of 3M double-sided tape.

Blankie Buddy from @VitaminsBaby

*I receieved a free sample of this product from Vitamins Baby. However, all opinions are my own.*

I you haven't heard of Vitamins Baby, they produce clothing and accessories for babies and children, like this Blankie Buddy they sent me to try out! It is cute, easy to grip and small enough to be a lovey for even a small baby. They come in animal designs and are a perfect car seat companion!

My little guy is one now, but he stills likes his Blankie Buddy! Even my 3 year old wants to play with it! They are fun for babies of any age, it seems!

Tasty Tuesday: Peanut Butter Freezer Fudge

I got this recipe from Money Saving Mom for Peanut Butter Freezer Fudge. It looked super-yummy in her pictures and it had few ingredients, all of which I had. So of course I had to try it out. It was really more like a candy, when all was said and done, and it didn't really taste too different than if I had just eaten peanut butter and chocolate chips together.
I halved the recipe I saw. I didn't have quite enough peanut butter to make a whole recipe and I wanted to make sure I really liked it first, anyway. So here is what I used:
     1/2 cup peanut butter
     3/4 TBSP maple syrup
     2 TBSP coconut oil
     1/4 tsp salt
     chocolate chips
First, cream everything except the chocolate.

Nuby Nibbler (Mesh Feeder)

*I received the product here as part of the Nuby Mommy Blogger program. All opinions expressed are my own.*

If you like to feed your toddler fresh, whole foods, you might want to try something like the Nuby Nibbler Mesh Feeder. A mesh feeder has a net-like compartment where you can put any type of solid food, like carrot, apple slices or even ice.
The baby can chew on this mesh feeder and get the food, but only what can come through the tiny holes. So no big chucks for baby to choke on. That way they can eat good, fresh foods even when they're too young to eat real chunks of food.

Festive Friday: Train Cake

Today I thought I'd share the cake I made for my son's first birthday. It is not quite as simple as my daughter's flower cake, but it's not super complicated either. As you can see, it is a train cake. Not super steady work, but it was late and I was ready for bed!
For the train cars I used a loaf pan for the cakes and Oreo cookies. After baking the mini cakes, I trimmed the tops so they were flat. I cut a couple of the loaf cakes in half and stacked the halves, as pictured below. I also took 3 oreos and "glued" them together with icing for the engine car.

I found that the Wilton cake icer tip works just right for covering 3 oreos and it also worked well for the rest of the car. I used oreos for the wheels as well! Decorate the cars as you see fit. You can use lots of candy if you want. I used a random toy my kids had and a number candle. What do you think?

Weight Loss Wednesday: Creative Biosceince Challenge (Part 4)

*I received a trial of this products in order to facilitate this review. Any opinions expressed are my own.*

Ok, I've finally completed the second month of my 90 day Green Coffee Bean trial from Creative Bioscience. For those who don't know about this challenge, basically I get to try out this product and share the results with my readers.
My second month got slightly better results than the first. My weight still fluctuated a lot over the last month. I don't think the 10-15 lb loss is going to happen for me during this trial. But at least I'm accomplishing something.

So, today my stats are:
weight - 172 (-3 lb from last month, -4 lb altogether)
waist - 42" (-1 in. from last month, -3 altogether)
BMI - 28.6 (-.5 from last month, -.7 altogether)

It is still difficult to remember to take the pills 30 minutes before meals. Right before would be much easier to handle. I have sometimes had to do that.
By the way, the Life Fit Store has these products for sale for 12-60% off retail. Creative Bioscience has given me a code for an additional 15% off to share with readers. Life Fit store is currently offering free shipping as well. Just put in the code AOH to receive your extra 15% off!

Are you a blogger who would like to participate in this challange yourself? Creative Science is currently accepting bloggers for this challenge. If you are interested, you can read about it here
