One of the items I got in my Holiday voxbox from Influenster is EBoost energy drink mix. The EBoost claim is to be a natural energy booster with green tea, vitamins and super nutrients like Vitamin C, Vitamin D and B-12.
I received a packet of the pink lemonade flavor, but there are also orange, Super Berry and acai pomegranate flavors. If I'd been asked ahead of time what flavor i'd choose, I probably still would have picked the pink lemonade.
So, I emptied the packet into a glass of waters, as the directions said, and watched it fizz up.
The result? Well, I wasn't too crazy about the taste. There was just something "off" about this lemonade. And I didn't really percieve much "extra" energy. I really really wanted to like it. I had a hard time drinking the whole glass, but I finally did.
I like that it comes in a convenient packet you could add to a water bottle if desired, and it gives you some vitamins, which is nice. But if I understand correctly, these things come in boxes of 20 for $28 (that's over $1 apiece!).
I can get a whole big box of tea which will give me the same "energy" and a bottle of multi-vitamin for less than that. And it would last more than 20 days. So, while I think it's a great concept and very well work for some people, I just found it was really not for me.
If you are not deterred by my less than enthusiastic opinion, please, feel free to check out the EBoost website. They've got a few other products to check out too. :-)
*I received a free sample of this product though Influenster's VoxBox program. All opinions are my own.*
Thank you for the frank and honest review! I see these energy drinks everywhere and can't say I've gotten into the craze, but I am glad to know that if I do try one, this brand is not going to be on my list!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I wanted to like it. There are other things out there that at least taste alright, even if that's all. And cheaper too!
DeleteI don't trust all the energy supplements floating around out there - I feel like a lot of them are probably more placebos than anything else...sounds like this falls into that category!
ReplyDeleteYou're probably right. Either that, or bordering on dangerous. I remember when I was 19 a friend told me about "yellow jackets" but before I got around to taking one, another friend warned me against it saying they could be dangerous. I really haven't tried many engergy supplements. I prefer things like tea that will get me some antipoxidents as well. And is truly natural. :-)
