Product Review: CAPTCHA Monster

Who here loves typing in Captcha codes? No? Anyone? Didn't think so! In my opinion, Captcha codes are the bane on the internet surfer's existence. To me, there are few things more annoying than writing a comment on someone's blog, and to find out that before you can "submit" you have to fill in a Captcha code. In fact, many people are deterred from leaving comments at all if it requires solving a Captcha to do so. something to keep in mind if your blog requires this.
For those of you that don't know, a Captcha code is that series of random, often hard-to-read numbers and letters a lot of websites make you fill out before submitting forms or comments. You know, to prove you're not a robot. Well, how long did you think it would be before somebody found a way around that?
If you are a Captcha-hater like me, you may want to check out Captcha Monster. This is an add-on that is compatible with Firefox only (which is my preferred browser anyway) that solves the Captchas for you. I just jumped at the chance to try this out!
You can set it to solve Captchas as soon as a page loads, when you start filling out a form or on request only. Now, it is not completely fool proof. I have found that it doesn't fill out Captcha's in pop-up windows. Like, some blogs have a new pop-up when you want to leave a comment. Captcha Monster doesn't seem to fill those out.
Also, at first it didn't seem to do case-sensitive Captcha's correctly. So you always want to double-check. But it finally did start doing it. For example, sometimes Swagbucks requires a case-sensitive Captcha when you do a search. The first time I tried it, it did lowercase instead of capital letters. But later it did capital letters. So it's not completely foolproof, but still a great tool!
Unfortunately, this is not a free app. Basic plans start at $2.99/mo. But you can try it out free for 30 days with no strings attached. If you decide it's not worth it, you don't have to purchase. But you may just decide you love the convenience of it. Type in code 20tomoson for 20% off. Go to the Captcha Monster website to get your free trial!

*I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.*
